Pleyben est une agréable petite ville avec sa très belle église et son calvaire souvent qualifié le plus beau de bretagne, par les spécialistes. Il figure aussi au sein de 6 calvaires monumentaux qui peuvent se visiter sans lointains déplacements. Parmi les grands sites à découvrir dans la journée : Locronan la Cité Médiévale, Douarnenez, et son musée des vieux gréements. la Pointe du Raz. Concarneau et sa ville close. Pont-Aven la cité des peintres. Huelgoat et son chaos en sous bois. Quimper et ses faïences. Trévarez et son château dans un parc de 85ha de plantations. La presqu'ile de Crozon, magnifique. Océanopolis à Brest. Les monts d'arrées aves ses sentiers nature. La vallée de l'aulne et sa rivière majestueuse. Le Guilvinec et ses langoustiniers, etc.
Pleyben constitue la porte sud du parc naturel d'Armorique et des Monts d'Arrée.Elle est aussi, renommée pour ses galettes, son chocolat,ses produits régionaux.
